Bringing a French Industrial Sealing Manufacturer's Full Product Catalogue to the Chinese Market

How we designed, built, and now host the WordPress site that helps Techné sell sealing solutions to Chinese industrial buyers.

Manufacturing in China Since 2004. No Chinese Website Until Now.

Techné has been making sealing and sliding solutions since 1981. O-rings, hydraulic seals, gaskets, bushings, moulded and machined parts. They serve automotive, aerospace, pharma, food processing, oil and gas, and more. Headquartered near Lyon, they’ve had a production facility in Dongguan, China (TDG) running since 2004.

The factory was there. The website wasn’t. Techné needed a Chinese site to support local sales, and this wasn’t going to be a simple brochure. Their catalogue is massive: dozens of product families across 12+ industry verticals, each with its own specs, materials, and certifications. Organising all of that so Chinese industrial buyers could actually use it was the real challenge.

Making Sense of a Massive Catalogue

Before touching design we had to work out the content structure. Static seals, dynamic seals, hydraulic seals, aseptic seals, cut gaskets, bushings, spring energised seals, and that’s still not the full list. Each product type serves different industries with different requirements.

We worked with Techné to figure out how Chinese buyers would search for products, whether to organise by type or industry (we did both), and what level of technical detail each page actually needed. For an industrial B2B catalogue this isn’t cosmetic. It’s the difference between a site that generates inquiries and one that gets abandoned after two clicks.

Design, Build, and Product Integration

Design had to balance the visual identity of an established French manufacturer with the practical needs of engineers and procurement teams browsing a product catalogue. We built everything on WordPress with the full catalogue integrated, every product family and sub-category with technical specs and industry applications. Someone looking for a specific PTFE gasket for food processing valves can get there in a few clicks.

The site is hosted in mainland China at techne.cn. We handle technical integration, maintenance, security, and content updates as the catalogue keeps evolving.

The Outcome

Techné now has a working Chinese website with their complete product catalogue accessible to local buyers. Engineers, procurement teams, OEM clients can browse by product or industry, check specs, and reach sales directly. For a company that’s been making parts in China for over 20 years but never had a proper Chinese website, that gap is finally closed.
